With the arrival of Season 8, a majority of guns can be modified past the initial possibilities of just few guns having 4x, 6x and 8x Scope attachments.

Weapon Modifications now come in the form of muzzle-devices, barrels, sights, underbarrel attachments, stocks, triggers and even internal modifications.

You can have a total of 4 modifications on a gun. And only 1 modification per category (so you can not have 2 scopes at the same time).

Most guns past the second Era in the Small Guns, Big Guns or Energy Weapons category can be modified. This means that guns from Tier 1 to Tier 3 are not modifiable, neither are Melee weapons or grenades.

Almost every modification will adjust a variety of the weapon's stats both positively and negatively. It might even add perks to your weapon as long as the modification is in use.

It is important to note that not every weapon can attach every modification. For example, pistols can not have grips attached to them. And a rocket launcher will not be able to house a barrel.

If a weapon is not in perfect condition, it will have slots that are locked and unmodifiable. And should a mod be attached to a locked slot, it will provide no bonuses. Should a weapon be in even poorer condition (Normal and worse), it will have DMods attached to it. DMods are unremovable, negative modifications that actively make the weapon worse. Once a DMod is attached to a weapon, it will not be able to be removed ever again, no matter how much you try to repair it.
